This standard sets forth the requirements for Low Power and Shutdown (LPSD) probabilistic risk assessments (PRA) and for LPSD Qualitative Risk Assessments (QLRA), both of which are used to support risk-informed decisions for commercial light water reactor nuclear power plants. This standard also prescribes a method for applying those parts of the requirements as necessary to support specific applications.
