ASME B18.31.5-2011 (R2021)

This standard establishes general requirements for parts classified as bent bolts. Dimensional requirements are provided in Tables for U-Bolts of differing bends, Eyebolts, Hook Bolts of differing bends, and J-Bolts. General requirements are provided for Offset Round Bend, J-Bolts, Square Bend Hook Bolts, Vee Bend U-Bolts and Slant U-Bolts. Two methods are identified for designating (ordering) bent bolts covered by this standard. For configurations covered by dimensional tables, Appendix A provides a Part Identification Number System that allows ordering the parts in a number of materials and finishes. For configurations without dimensional requirements or of sizes not covered in the Tables a standard system for identifying the dimensions, material and finish is provided. The inclusion of dimensional data in this standard reflects generally available configurations. It is not intended to imply that all of the products described herein are stock production sizes, particularly in materials other than low carbon steel. Consumers should consult with manufacturers concerning lists of stock production sizes and materials.
