Dimensions of involute splined shafts and holes with 30 pressure angle in the range: major diameter fit, flat root 3/6 to 16/32 pitch 6 to 60 teeth); wide fit, flat root (2.5/5 to 32/64 pitch 6 to 60 teeth); wide fit, fillet root (2.5/5 to 48/96 pitch 6 to 60 teeth). Basic formulae for calculating dimensions and tolerances, with guidance on obtaining the fit desired. Gauging and inspecting splines, methods of obtaining dimensions and tolerances for gauges. Inspection of splines using pins, tables of measurements over and between pins.
