Analysis of coffee and coffee products - Determination of chlorogenic acids content in roasted coffee and extracted coffee - HPLC method

Summary

This Standard specifies a method for the determination of three mono-caffeoylquinic acids 3-, 4- and 5-CQA, of three di-caffeoylquinic acids 3,4-, 3,5- and 4,5-diCQA, of three feruloylquinic acids (3-, 4- and 5-FQA) and of two chlorogenic acid lactones (3- und 4-CQL). Examples for structural formulae, designations and the common abbreviations for determinable analytes are shown in figure A.1 and table A.1. This method has been validated for roasted coffee and coffee extracts in a liquid or dried form but it is also suitable for green coffee.
