Summary

This document is applicable to fonts according to DIN 16518. The aim is to define a limited number of fonts the forms of which meet the requirements for good legibility, ambiguity and distinctiveness. The purpose of the standard is to assure a good legibility for the presentation of public information. This in particular applies to all types of schedules, announcements as well as to labelling in the public area or for signalization texts in guide- and orientation systems.
