DIN 18065:2009-09
Stairs in buildings - Terminology, measuring rules, main dimensions
Summary
The existing standard DIN 18065:2000-01 with this draft standard is reformed and configured more user-friendly. The standard has been fundamentally restructured. Clause 6 ""Main dimensions"", Clause 7 ""Tolerances"" as well as the normative Annex ""Descriptive explanations"" has been written as a two-columned table. So the differences between ""General buildings"" and ""Dwelling houses up to two flats and within flats"" could be represented more clearly. Texts and/or figures applying for the two columns has been arranged over both columns without division. The draft standard is written in such a way that the future standard can be taken over to the ""Musterliste der Technischen Baubestimmungen"" and introduced by the building authorities in every ""Bundesland"". This draft standard defines terms and definitions, main dimensions and tolerances for stairs in building. This draft standard applies to all stairs independent of material and construction type, e. g. for stairs with load-bearing bolts according to DIN 18069. This does not apply to other special fields as e. g. shipbuilding or machine construction. It does not apply to stairs according to DIN EN ISO 14122-3 ""Safety of machinery - Permanent means of access to machinery - Part 3: Stairs, stepladders and guard-rails "". This draft standard does not apply to loft ladders (see DIN EN 14975) and not for escalators and not for outside perrons.
