Pedestrian Doors - Doors for buildings - Sizes of door leaves, position of hinges and lock - Interdependence of dimensions
Summary
This standard applies to single-leaf rebated and unrebated door leaves with or without overpanels, either mounted in steel frames in accordance with DIN 18111-1, -2 and -3 or in timber frames in accordance with DIN 68706-2. The specification of mutually dependent dimensions of door frame and door leaf as well as the position of hinges and locks is intended to facilitate assembly whenever the frame, door leaf, lock and hinges (door furniture) are delivered separately and are subsequently installed on site at different times. The specification of the basic dimensions and their position in relation to certain reference edges or reference planes should not only assist assembly of the individual components of a door but also ensure that door leaves are interchangeable in a frame without the need for reworking. Other dimensions can be used for individually manufactured door components.
