DIN 19698-1:2012-10

DIN 19698-1 defines mandatory rules for standardized procedures for physical, chemical and biological investigations of waste in relation to recycling or disposal. Part 1 gives a guideline for the segmental sampling of stockpiles of unknown composite. The analyses of the samples taken as well as the evaluation of the results are not part of this standard. The fragmented and the particle size of the typical composite of solid waste, and its material composition and/or contents, extend from homogeneous to extremely heterogeneous. Thus, the determination of a characteristic can only almost be reliable stated with a sufficient statistical number of samples in relation to the volume of the stockpile.
