This document specifies the environmental requirements during the construction and operation of civil shooting ranges (hunting and sporting purposes) for shotguns. It covers the principles for the planning of new facilities as well as the reconstruction of existing shooting ranges and the soil relevant materials. This standard is not applicable for shooting ranges operated by the military or the government and shooting ranges in closed buildings. The requirements for the internal and external safety and the noise (especially refexions) are within the scope of this standard.
