This document applies to measuring of new railway vehicle bodies as well as for reconstructions. Beyond that it is recommended to apply these fixed principles and measuring designations also for maintenance to ensure a standardised transparent and continuous system for measuring. Unless a particular entry exists the state of production is optional and nominal sizes respectively limiting sizes depend on the specific vehicle. These attributes of any measuring process as well as recurring measurings shall be agreed upon by the contractual partners. These measuring processes with appropriate measuring points are determined explicitly by separate drawings (appraisal drawings). Additional measuring processes are allowed. The reference plane (x-y-axis) and the longitudinal center line shall be designated clearly on the vehicle. The measurement shall take place in low-torsion position.
