This multipart standard series applies to colour reproduction systems digital - analog. The colour reproduction system includes for example the computer operating system and the application software for an analog output of a digital file on: printers, multifunctional devices, displays, and data projectors. The standard series describes methods for the specification of the relative colour reproduction of the output by defined YES/NO-criteria. The goal is the visual assessment of the output properties of these colour reproduction systems. Part 1 includes the basic definitions for the application of digital test charts in different file formats. The colour reproduction system produces an output, either an analog hardcopy, for example with a colour printer or an analog softcopy, for example on a display or with a data projector. Parameters are described which may change the output 'digital - analog'.
