This standard applies to non-loadbearing, internal partition walls. This standard does not apply to internal walls that are designed to carry vertical building loads or serve for stiffening of built structures. This standard can also be applied to internal walls that serve as fall arresting devices. It does not apply to movable partitions, which can be moved horizontally and /or vertically. (eg, sliding and folding partitions).
