This standard applies to the nominal diameters and the surface geometry of ribbed straight bars of the reinforcing steel grades B500B according to DIN 488 Part 1. It contains the requirements for the dimensions, shape and configuration of the oblique and longitudinal ribs and the specified values for the projected rib area as a function of the nominal bar diameter.
