Summary

This standard specifies load controlled fatigue tests on metallic specimens or components that are used to determine fatigue properties for constant load amplitudes (S-N curve or Wöhler curve). The execution, evaluation and documentation of fatigue tests in the range of high cycle fatigue (HCF) and long life fatigue (LLF, former fatigue limit) are described. Strain and shear controlled tests in the range of low cycle fatigue (LCF) are not within the scope of this standard.
