DIN 53894-2:2018-11

This document specifies a test method for determining the dimensional change, i.e. shrinkage or extension, of textile fabrics as a result of relaxation when steamed in a completely unrestrained state on ironing machines. The elongation values determined during steaming on an ironing machine cannot usually be compared with the results of other shrinkage test methods. This applies, for example, to ironing under a damp cloth according to DIN 53894-1 or soaking in warm water.
