This standard specified a method to determine the foaming capacity of surfactants and derived products, in particular bath additives regardless of their ionic character. The determination is carried out in accordance with this standard at (50+/-2) °C. The test instrument used also provisions at temperatures above 50 °C are possible. Temperatures that differ from (50+/-2) °C are also compatible. The sample solutions must not contain any turbidity or sediments. The method is therefore not applicable to easily hydrolyzed surfactants, not completely soluble or sensitive to water hardness surfactants.
