Haemostaseology - Determination of factor VII coagulant activity (F VII C) - Part 2: Reference measurement procedure using a synthetic peptide substrate

Summary

The document is applicable to the determination of factor VII coagulant activity (F VII C) via the determination of faktor Xa with a chromogenic substrate in plasma and factor concentrates. The purpose of this document is to achieve comparable results for the factor VII C content in a given sample. Essential preconditions for achieving this objective are a standardized procedure for calibration of the method, as well as the use of reference plasmas or reference concentrates with a declared factor VII C proportion which has been determined by calibration against the International Standard of WHO (plasma or concentrate) for factor VII C which is valid at the time of use.
