Summary
The document describes the basically technical characteristics of splices for fibre ropes. The statements apply to types of splices for laid ropes, ropes of eight strand plait, and plaited ropes being either constructed as an end splice (eye-splice, tucked splice, or thimble splice) connecting splice (short- or long splice) or rope sling, respectively (endlessly laid rope, called ""Grummet"").
