The testings according to this standard serve to determine the shear strength and the creep shear strength of gap soldered joints. The provisions of this standard serve for the classification of braze and solders for gap soldered joints. They may also be used for determining the strength of gao soldered joints under shear stress of a soldered area at various test temperatures. They apply primarily to soldering joints made with solders according to DIN 1707-100.
