This standard specifies the requirements for planing, design, and installation of sounding pipes for sea-going ships and inland vessels. It passes for sounding pipes which lead to tanks and reservoirs with mediums which shall have a flash point over than 55 degree Celsius. Relevant regulations of the ship's classification society Germanischer Lloyd are covered by this standard.
