This European Standard specifies the characteristics of flexible sheets of bitumen intended for use as damp proof courses for buildings. It specifies the requirements and test methods and provides for the evaluation of conformity of the products with the requirements of this European Standard. This European Standard does not cover related products such as preformed cavity trays coping and flashings. requirements for bitumen damp proof courses. The main addressed characteristics will be: water tightness, gas permeability, mechanical properties like the resistance to perforation or the impact resistance and the durability of those characteristics against chemical or biological agents and/or weathering.
