DIN EN 61755-6-1:2013-11
Fibre optic interconnecting devices and passive components - Fibre optic connector optical interfaces - Part 6-1: Connection of 50,0 um multimode, non-angled physically contacting fibres (IEC 86B/3659/CD:2013)
Summary
This part of IEC 61755 defines a set of prescribed conditions that must be maintained in order to satisfy the requirements of attenuation and return loss performance in a randomly mated pair of 50 um multimode fibres. To get to the random attenuation values, it is first necessary to define the reference (factory) attenuation perfomance under encircled flux conditions. Both refrence and random connections are specified in this document. The random mate attenuation values re valid under the encircled flux (EF) low modal conditions described in IEC 61300-1. The random mate performance grades are classified into three categories for attenuation and one for return loss measurements. This standard was developed as described in Annex A.
