Summary

The second edition of this standard specifies the operational and performance requirements, methods of testing and required test results for class A shipborne AIS equipment. It takes account of IMO Resolutions and ITU Recommendations. This part 2 of IEC 61993 specifies the minimum requirements both on input and output interfaces.

DIN EN 61993-2 (2002-10) remains valid alongside this standard until 2015-11-23.*A transition period, as set out in DIN EN IEC 61993-2 (2019-05), exists until 2021-08-23.
