Summary
Guidelines for quantitative surveys of sublittoral soft-bottom fauna in coastal areas and on the shelf. For the purpose of the present standard all areas of thesea floor where is possible to collect samples by grab (or box core) are considered as soft bottom. The scope is limited to sampling (and analysis) of macrofauna which, for the present purpose, applies to animals retained on a 0,5 mm to 1,0 mm mesh screen.
