Summary

The document specifies a relatively simple engineering method for determining the sound power levels of small, movable noise sources. For the measurements the source is installed in a special reverberation room. Guidelines for the design of special reverberation rooms are given in an annex. For the direct method the A-weighted sound power level of the source is determined from measured A-weighted sound pressuer levels; this method eleminates the need for a reference sound source. In addition a comparison method is also described.
