Summary

The standard is useful for the determination of the load carrying capacity and ant-wear properties of semifluid greases used for gear lubrication. The test results are required as input for the gear design according to DIN 3990 respectively ISO/TR 13989. The test method is technically equivalent with the test procedure given in DIN Fachbericht 74.
