Summary
This part of DIN ISO 18589 series specifies method specific to the measurement of plutonium isotopes (plutonium 238 and plutonium 239+240) by alpha spectrometry using chemical spearation techniques. The methods can be used for any type of environmental study or monitoring. They can also be used for measurements of very low levels of activity, one or two orders of magnitude less than the level of natural alpha emitting radionuclides.
Notes
A transition period, as set out in DIN ISO 18589-4 (2020-10), exists until 2021-06-30.
