The method described in the document determines the aniline point or the mixed aniline point of petroleum products and hydrocarbon based solvents. For the test, the sample and aniline of sample, aniline and n-heptane are mixed. The mixture is then heated in temperature increments prescribed in the document, until the phases of the mixture are thoroughly mixed. Subsequently the sample is cooled until the phases separate again. The corresponding temperature is the aniline point or the mixed aniline point respectively.
