Many cable circuits are now approaching the end of their theoretical life. There are currently no guidelines for evaluating the remaining life of cables. The guide will provide technical background, brief discussions and advice, with frequent reference to the literature, to those needing to evaluate the remaining life of impregnated paper insulated transmission cables.
