Summary

This method describes a procedure of determining the Oxidation Induction Time (OIT) of a Lubricating Oil by Pressure Differential Scanning Calorimetry (PDSC).

Oxidation times as determined under the conditions of this method can be used as an indication of the ability of a lubricating oil to resist oxidation and deposit formation.
