The document is applicable for the development and design of engineered products that are produced as individual parts (e.g. equipment engineering) or on the standard production line and that due to their technical compexity and projected service life require a considerable amount of maintenance. The document applies to new designs, design variants and design adaptations. The application of this guidelines to lab samples, test supports, etc. shall be limited to products planned for subsequent standard production.
