The maximum immission values (MI values) for cadmium which are presented in this standard are designed to protect farm animals and the food derived from them. The MI values for cadmium (Cd) are derived from long-term experiments designed to determine the dose-time-response relationship in farm animals. The maximum immission values for cadmium are confined only for those farm animals with which such experiments were conducted.
