The standard gives recommendations for the maintenance of cranes and discusses durability, measures of maintenance, and defines requirements for non-destructive testing, screwed fastening and corrosion protection. Old crane systems are also considered. The standard is aimed at professionals who are charged with the planning, implementation, supervision and/or documentation of maintenance, modification and modernisation on steel structures of cranes.
