This standard applies to stationary and rail-mounted crane systems including their supporting structure and technical equipment as well as to crane runways, provided they are subject to the area of application of accident prevention regulations BGV D 6 and BGV D 8. The standard presents approved maintenance planning strategies for crane systems. In line with DIN 15001-1 the present standard relates to travelling hoists, cantilever cranes, slewing cranes, overhead (bridge) cranes, gantry cranes, wall cranes and construction tower cranes.
