The standard provides assistance for the successful implementation of a turnaround in the pharmaceutical, chemical, and petrochemical industry according to a project approach. It describes characteristics for the planning and implementation of a turnaround in order to optimize the time and cost expenditure while complying with occupational safety and environmental protection requirements. It defines the basic terms and gives recommendations for action for the successful handling and quality assurance of the turnaround and advice on compliance with operator obligations. The standard is intended for plant operators, internal and external service providers within the process industry as well as all personnel involved in turnarounds and turnaround-management.
