This standard shows different options of power transmitting pressure pins in large forming and stamping dies and provides guidelines for their usage. It is meant for corresponding die making companies as well as their suppliers, and explains, how power can be transmitted from the bolster plate or ram cushion to the blank holder or pressure pad within the die by means of press- and pressure pins. To avoid an unbalanced load to the press cushions, balance pins may be used. The standard describes the commonly used layouts. Individual adjustments to these are nonetheless possible if mutually agreed on.
