The guideline quotes design instructions for the manufacturing of foam patterns for tool dies which are cast by the full mould casting method. In addition to general recommendations like e.g. compensation of shrinkage and machining allowances recommendations for several structural elements are given. Design requirements based on the casting technique e.g. to avoid material accumulations or the construction of feeders are made explicit. Especially the acceptance of the pattern is discussed in detail.
