The standard deals with the manufacture of gaskets made of fiber composite materials. Here, calendering or beater processes are applied mainly. In general, seals are manufactured by stamping, cutting or other chipless separation process from sheet- or strip gasket material. The above separation processes release less fibers than chipping or cutting processes, therefore they are not recommended. Furthermore, the technological possibilities for reducing emissions are presented. A distinction is made between material-specific and procedural and operational measures. Finally, the options are presented for recycling.
