Waste gas cleaning - Inertial separators

Summary

In waste gas cleaning applications, inertial separators (e.g. cyclones) are mostly used as pre-collectors in combination with downstream filtering, electrostatic or wet separators. In some application cases they lend themselves to final particle collection. Furthermore they are often employed in the process industry for the process gas cleanup or the preparation of disperse products. This standard describes the state of the art of systems exploiting inertial forces (inertial separators) for particle collection from gas streams. It provides the calculation basis for the detailed technical design of inertial separators.
