This standard broadly refers to material cultural heritage with focus on the systematic identification, examination and preservation, taking into account natural and anthropogenic environmental impacts. It provides a basis for the systematic planning, implementation and documentation of conservation and restoration measures. The standard is addressed to all those who act in the field of material cultural heritage and are responsible in research and practice, in particular owners, building and property managers, planners, architects, engineers, conservators, craftsmen as well as museums and monument authorities.
