VDI 3861 Blatt 2:2022-02

The standard specifies a method for determining low number concentrations of inorganic fibrous particles in flowing, dry dust-gas mixtures in defined cross-sections, e.g. in chimneys, pipelines or ducts. Inorganic fibres with a length L > 5 µm, a thickness D < 3 µm and a ratio of length to thickness L:D > 3:1 are detected. The requirements of VDI 2066 Part 1 apply to the measurement at stationary plants; simplifications are specified for mobile applications.
