VDI 3957 Blatt 1:2011-09

This guideline is the framework guideline of guideline series VDI 3957. It introduces the subject of the series ""bioindication with plants"". The contents of both the 15 method descriptions already standardised and ongoing guideline projects are stated. In addition, the framework guideline includes an overview of potential scopes of application of biological measuring techniques as well as essential information concerning quality assurance and documentation. Furthermore, it provides definitions of important terms. The standardised biological measuring techniques of guideline series VDI 3957 enable determination of the temporal and spatial distribution of air pollutant effects and, by means of assessment values, evaluation of the threat of plants and via the food chain animals and human beings.
