Employers have always - even without a health and safety at work act or operational safety ordinance - concerned themselves with the exposure of their employees to hazards at the workstation, and have taken suitable measures, often, however, lacking a systematic approach. This guideline is intended to illustrate the systematic procedure for carrying out the hazard evaluation, which has proven useful in practice. The decisive prerequisite is that the employer recognizes the positive effect of the hazard evaluation and gives this task top priority. The user of the guideline is given a set of instructions which allow him to deal with the hazard evaluation more easily and more intensively than before.
