The standard is aimed at practitioners from primarily small and medium-sized enterprises in the coatings industry. The standard gives an overview of the economic and ecological optimisation measeures of painting processes. Painting processes by definition usually are attributed to organic coating methods of surface treatment techniques. The standard therefor focuses on the processes 'paint application', e.g. in a spray booth, and 'lacquer crosslinking' and 'drying'. The pretreatment processes for painting, e.g. cleaning and post-treatment processes, are not covered in this standard.
