The totality of technical documentation consists of all technical information that is documented by a manufacturer/distributor in parallel with the creation and lifecycle of a product. From conception up to disposal, a product undergoes several processes. These processes are in interaction with the technical documentation or influence it. The guideline regards the planning, layout and creation of technical documentation as a sub-process within the documentation process. The target group of this guideline primarily contains persons who create the technical documentation within this process, though also persons who deliver information for the technical documentation or provide portions of the documents.
