VDI 4605:2017-10

This standard provides guidance for engineers for a rough examination and evaluation of technical products, processes or enterprises with respect to sustainability and accountability. The user is enabled to consider the development of processes, products and systems critically under economic, social and ecological aspects. The basis of the standard is a shell model. The first shell is basically the subject of the standard. A disaggregated system consisting of a few number of indicators is offered for evaluation. In this way a quick and simple comparing evaluation of the subject to an alternative can be realised. The standard also shows ways to proceed, in cases the presented simplified evaluation is not possible.
