Bolted joints - Tensioned joints - Precision engineering components
Summary
Bolted connections are preferably used for functional reasons when a releasable connection is required. The joining process (assembly) can be reliable, even under difficult conditions, and the connection can be equipped with high security against loosening. For connections where solubility is not necessary, screws are used when secure clamping forces need to be achieved with a simple design of the junction, or machinery, tools and equipment for other types of connections are not available or applicable. The guideline gives an overview of bolts and applicable lockings.
