This standard defines methods for the evaluation of gear measurement devices (with and without rotary table) used to check profile, flank line, pitch, runout and tooth thickness. In addition to the test procedures, the required gear reference standards for the respective characteristics and the necessary preparatory measures and general requirements for carrying out these tests are described. The tests described can be the subject of an acceptance or acceptance test and can also serve for the internal continuous monitoring of a gear measuring instrument. The tests should be carried out both before a measuring instrument ist put into operation and after a new installation, conversion or overhaul.
