The document applies to one-dimensions sensors for distance measurement used for optical probing in coordinate measuring machines and, furthermore, applies within the context of the specifications in Part 6. It describes the current, normal methods of measurement of triangulation sensors, laser focus sensors, video autofocus sensors used for one-dimensional distance measurement and shows the optical influences which lead to probing errors. Information is given on the avoidance and reduction of these errors and the procedures for acceptance and reverification test are extended.
