Industrial manufacturing processes are characterised by a constantly progressing automation and growing requirements to the manufacturing excellence. In many cases this is only possible by the employment of image processing systems. The guideline gives hints for the preparation of specification sheets for machine vision systems and supports thereby the communication between supplier and the user of image processing systems in the project phase. Substantial attention was put on the representation and description of influence factors as well as their effects. The user is shifted thereby into the situation to identify influences and find solutions together with the supplier of image processing systems.The guideline is valid for industrial image processing systems.
